A local entrepreneur looking to scale-up their business
If you are:
A woman or BME founder in the South Yorkshire area looking for more business support
An individual with a business idea who needs support in starting
What if someone gave you £500 and helped you scale your business in 90 days?
Over the course of 12 weeks, participants are set a challenge. How much can you scale your business in 90 days with a £500 grant? Some of our participants are able to achieve profitable marketing campaigns, take on new clients or even hire their first members of staff.
Throughout the business course, we stress test your business idea and ensure you're set for scale. Making sure you have a strong business model, the right marketing and partnerships, and teaching core skills such as cashflow forecasting and sales training.
PLUS all successful participants get 1:1 mentorship with a dedicated business coach as well as a personal action plan, keeping you accountable and aligned to your business goals.
THE SCHEDULE
September 19th ~ 5pm-7pm - Introduction to Bootstrapping & Finance - Our first session is all about understanding bootstrapping, what it means and what it really takes to scale up a business with no outside capital! We dive straight into the deep-end with our expert facilitator on cashflow finance and making sure you have the correct business model which is built for scale!
September 26th ~ 5pm-6pm - Weekly Surgery - Our bi-weekly surgery session. This is a short 1-hour session where you will work with the rest of the participants on a task that has been set the previous work. It's a chance to ask questions and work through individual challenges. During this week's session we will usually finish off the cashflow forecast.
October 3rd ~ 5pm-7pm - Your Customer & Their Problem - This week is all about our brand positioning and how we show up for our customers. Working with our facilitator Amanda Baker, she will guide us through the 5 Stories - looking at how we connect with our customers and craft our brand story to showcase this.
October 10th ~ 5pm-7pm - Landing Pages & Lead Magnets - In this session we learn all about how to build landing pages and lead magnets for our business. This means building basic one-page websites and creating things such as e-books and offers to attract our ideal customers.
October 17th ~ 5pm-6pm - Weekly Surgery - In this weekly surgery we work through marketing tasks from the previous weeks such as finishing our 5 stories and beginning to build out our landing pages and lead magnets.
October 24th ~ 5pm-7pm - Product Strategy - During 'Product Strategy' we look at the tech requirements for our business and discover how this could be bolstered by the use of 'No Code'. Our expert facilitator will show us all the different technical options we can utilise and advise on the best ones for our business.
October 31st ~ 5pm-6pm - Weekly Surgery - In this weekly surgery we will continue the work from our product strategy session. Looking at a variety of no-code tools and applying it to our businesses.
November 7th ~ 5pm-7pm - Building Out Our Sales Funnel - Now we have our technical platform, marketing assets and understand our market positioning, its time to pull it all together and work on our sales funnel. Here we'll map our customer journey from start to finish and ensure its scaleable and manageable.
November 14th ~ 5pm-7pm - Email & SEO - This session is all about e-mail and SEO, in it you will learn advanced e-mail marketing tactics and how to make your website SEO friendly.
November 21st ~ 5pm-7pm - Sales Training - Almost everything in business revolves around sales, in this week we will provide high level sales training to you to close prospects over phone, email and generate leads.
November 28th ~ 5pm-7pm - Traffic & Copy - In our final teaching week we learn all about traffic and copy. How to create ads, launch them and manage budgets. We will focus on Instagram and Facebook ads but will also look at other platforms such as Google Adwords.
December 5th ~ 5pm - 6pm - Weekly Surgery - In our final week, we have another weekly surgery to go back over all of our sessions and bring it all together. We'll also revisit our personal action plan and ensure we have applied all the tools and resources to our business ready for scale!
THE GRANT
All participants will receive a £500, equity free, cash grant for use during the program. This can be used for a variety of purposes as long as it is for business use and with a reasoning to scale the business!
Grants will only be issued to participants who have completed a minimum of 12-hours of the business course, and are able to explain how it will be used. Grants are issued on a discretionary basis and are up to the discretion of the course facilitator and OneTech as an organisation.
FAQ's
How much does this course cost? - Its completely free! All we ask in return for attending is to help us by filling in any feedback forms during the course of the program.
Who's funding this? - This program is funded by TEAMSY and ERDF funding, meaning it is a government funded program to help local businesses in South Yorkshire.
Am I eligible for the program? - This program is designed for diverse and underrepresented entrepreneurs in South Yorkshire. As long as you are a business owner, or willing to register your business in South Yorkshire and you hit our eligibility criteria we would love to welcome you onto the program.
What if I can't attend all the sessions? - Not to worry! The sessions are recorded, and you can catch up with them at any time on the OneTech portal. Whilst we always try to encourage people to attend the live sessions, as long as you can evidence you've watched the recordings we can count your attendance.
